Online Application for Verification of Eligibility for Permanent Identity Card

You can make use of an online service to submit your application for verification of eligibility for a permanent identity card. The following will give you the details about using that service.

  1. Applicants must be staying in Hong Kong legally when submitting applications (regardless of whether by post, drop-in or via the Internet). If you are not physically present in Hong Kong when you apply, your application will not be processed and will be treated as closed.
  2. Normally, the Immigration Department will take six weeks to process applications if all of the supporting documents provided are in order. Further time may be required depending on the complexity of the application, and the number of applications received at the same time.

Preparing to Submit Your Application

Please read the Notes for Guidance (ROP145A) before submitting the application.
